Marcelo Ricardo [ Brazil ]

Marcelo Ricardo is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and singer. Was born in 1992 in Belo Horizonte - MG, Brazil.
His influences are Brazilian Music, Blues, Funk, Soul and R&B. Encouraged by his mom, started his studies on drums with 18 Years Old and quickly became a professional musician, being one of the main drummers of the city. Colaborating with hundreds of projects, Marcelo already recorded more than 25 albums of different Artists, made tours in Mexico, Germany, Italy, London, Netherlands and Portugal, playing in festivals, TV Shows and sharing stages with big names of music like Toninho Horta, Lô Borges, Eric Gales, Samuel Rosa, Erasmo Carlos, Céu, Ney Matogrosso, Aurora Orchestra, Cláudio Venturini, Di Melo, Enrico Crivellaro, Affonsinho Heliodoro, Dawn Tyler Watson and much more.

Mainly as an independent drummer, Marcelo constantly searches for new sounds and styles, mixing it with his strong influences of brazilian rhythms.

Marcelo reveived the award for being the best “BDMG Jovem Instrumentista 2018” (Young Instrumentalist 2018) and has studied with great Drummers like Aluizio Brant, Esdra “Neném” Ferreira, Arthur Rezende and André “Limão” Queiroz. Currently he is studying music at the High School and, besides that, takes classes with the great Márcio Bahia, that is the Hermeto Pascoal’s drummer.

Marcelo Ricardo keeps working and learning from different musicians, styles and music scenes, being one of the finest drummers and singers of his country.
